Our Initiatives

The Gussie Wortham Foundation Inc. initiatives include the following:

• Education Before Basketball Program: Mentoring & Tutoring through athletics and providing educational assistance.
• Families in Crisis: Information resource for families in Domestic Violence Crisis. We have donated funding and supplies to My Sister's Place and Interval House in Connecticut. 
• United In Ball & Life: Promoting the progress of student athletes through social media.
• Skills & Drills: Assisting Student/Athletes with skills to perform the correct fundamentals in athletics.
• Reading Buddies: Assisting students with literacy through tutoring.
• Adopt-A-Class: Foundation picks a classroom at one of the local public schools in Connecticut, North Carolina and South Carolina.
• Impact Without Limits- Assisting Underserved and Underprivileged Communities and Urban Schools throughout the country. We have assisted the following states: Connecticut, South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia and Africa.
• Kenny Anderson Top 64 Showcase On The Beach- The Gussie Wortham Foundation Inc. in collaboration with Former N.B.A. All-Star, High School,College All-American and 2x Beach Ball Classic M.V.P. Kenny Anderson with Socastee High School (where the Beach Ball Classic originated) being the host site where 64 Student Athletes are  invited to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from different parts of the country with the opportunity to compete for a chance to play at the Collegiate level.
• We are now in our second year as a Member Investor with the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.
